On the 20th after Bismarck we hightailed to Chatsowrth, Iowa in hopes of getting the evening DAIR train out of Sioux City. We arrived in Hawarden as a local was finishing up for the day with the lone DAIR GP20 leading. We then made it to Westfield before finding the northbound. South Dakota railroads date back to 1872 when the original Dakota Southern Railroad completed its main line between Vermillion and Sioux City, Iowa a distance of roughly 37 miles.
